Server Configurations

The standard configuration for our servers is:

  • Intel Dual or Quad Pentium Pro-class 200MHz+ processor SAG or COMPAQ NT servers
  • Silicon Graphics ORIGIN 200 and ORIGIN 2000 Web Force 200MHz+ processor UNIX servers
  • 64 MB RAM (although some have 128 MB.)
  • 2 GB SCSI drive (again, some have more depending on need)
  • 10/100 MB Ethernet card
  • All servers feature ULTRA SCSI redundant drives (RAID 5) with built in 64 Megabyte Cache, and redundant power supplies
  • The network operations center is fully equipped with backup power and power generators.
  • All servers are backed up on a nightly basis with 10 Terabyte backup systems

Our Internet connections are plugged directly into backbone providers (Sprint, MCI, DIGEX, GOODNET, MFS, and UUNET ), which are located in the same building as the network operations center.

Our 2 DS-3 and 6 T-1 Internet Backbone is connected into Cisco 7500 series routers. A DS-3 (or T-3) is 28 T-1's at 45 Megabytes per second, which means our throughput is 90 MB per second with both DS-3's.

Our computer rooms have state of the art cooling, backup generators and a FM 200 fire suppression system and can run for up to 48 hours with no power, on batteries (which are backed up by Gas Generators.) As such, Adscape guarantees 99.9% up-time.
